The math contractors need

Markup is not margin.

A 35% markup on true cost produces a lower price than a true 35% margin — and a smaller profit share than you think.

True cost

$2,849.70

1 − margin

0.65

Selling price

$4,384.15

A 35% markup on $2,849.70 produces a $3,847.10 price.

But that price only creates a 25.9% margin — a true 35% margin requires the full $4,384.15.

Pro dashboard preview

Know which services are underpriced.

Service Rate Health compares what you currently charge for each standard service against the rate required to hit your target margin — so a quiet pricing mistake doesn't repeat on every job.

  1. 1. Save your true cost per service in your catalog.
  2. 2. Set the rate you currently charge.
  3. 3. Pro flags any service below your target margin — and shows the required rate.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy Pro right now?

Yes — Pro is a one-time $79 launch price (regular $99), lifetime, no subscription. Payment unlocks the app immediately.

Do I need an account?

No account or login is required for the free calculators or for Pro. You use the tool directly in your browser.

Where is my data stored?

Locally, on your own device, in your browser's storage. Your materials, labor rates, equipment, and estimates are never uploaded to a server. Use the built-in JSON export to back up or move your workspace to another device.

Is this intended for lawn-care scheduling?

No. Landscape Estimate Pro is focused on one-off installation and construction project estimating and job costing — mulch, planting, edging, hardscape, grading, and similar work. It is not a scheduling, dispatch, or recurring-mowing route tool.

Does it calculate landscape measurements from aerial images?

No. You supply your own measurements and quantities — from a site visit, a plan, or a tape measure. There's no aerial or satellite takeoff feature. The software focuses on turning quantities you already know into an accurate cost and price.

Can I use my own labor, material, and production rates?

Yes — every rate is yours. You set your loaded labor rate, your material and equipment costs, and your own production rates (e.g. yards of mulch per person-hour). The software never assumes a universal productivity number for your crew.

What is the difference between markup and margin?

Markup is profit divided by cost. Margin is profit divided by selling price. A 35% markup on a $2,850 true cost gives a $3,847.50 price — but that price is only a 25.9% margin. To actually hit a 35% margin, the selling price needs to be $4,384.62. Landscape Estimate Pro always prices off your target margin, not markup.

Can I export or back up my estimates?

Yes. Pro includes CSV export for line items (useful for spreadsheets or accounting) and full JSON workspace backup/restore, so you can move your materials, equipment, assemblies, templates, and estimates to a new device.
